Product Description

Fuse Adhere Fusible Backing 11 3/4 inch x 8 inch pre-cut sheet

Sold by the Sheet - 1 pc. of 11 3/4" x 8" pre-cut sheet of fuse adhere

Fuse-Adhere is a permanent double-sided fusible film with a wax paper backing. This transfer film is an excellent choice for attaching lettering, embroideries, patches, and appliqué without stitching. Once applied, Fuse-Adhere is machine washable because it creates a permanent adhesion between fabric surfaces without sewing. It can also be dry-cleaned.

    * Wax Paper backing for mess-free fusing to appliqué and patches.
    * Permanent and strong.
    * Stitching is not necessary.
    * Fusible on both sides makes the product stronger than competitive peel and stick alternatives.

I like to use Fuse Adhere for my applique fabric, but I know that others use interfacing from Joann's and Hobby Lobby with success as well. I prefer fuse adhere for a few reasons.  ~ Angie, AKDesigns Boutique

  • I like the way it "fuses" with the fabric so that you don't have any fraying.
  • Since you don't have fraying, you don't have the little threads poking through your stitches.
  • The way it fuses with the fabric, your fabric doesn't "pull" away from the stitches, so your applique looks and stays nice and secure in place.
  • Since it's smooth after applying, it makes trimming your applique in the hoop easy. The scissors seem to just glide across on the underside while trimming. I find that when I use the fusible interfacing that is made for garments my scissors sometimes get caught in the fibers while trimming in the hoop.

Instructions to prepare Applique Fabric

  1. Place your appliqué pattern or shape face up over the fuse adhere with the fusible side up [not the wax paper side] and trace around it. So, the back of your fabric will be face to face with the fusible side of the fuse adhere.
  2. Cut out the Fuse-Adhere film in the shape that you traced
  3. Place your fabric face down, place the fuse adhere fusible side down [wax paper side up] on top of your fabric
  4. Use a teflon pressing cloth or larger peice of scrap fabric to place on top of the wax paper side before pressing - this becomes a "buffer" between your iron and the fuse adhere .
  5. Set your iron to a synthetic setting [this will be a lower heat setting].
  6. Press lightly without dragging the iron.
  7. Check to see if the edges are adhered - if they are, you're finished, if they aren't try again.
  8. Allow time to cool, and remove the wax paper from the other side of the fuse adhere. NOTE: If fuse adhere is tacky to the touch, it will also be "gummy" when stitching.  Please allow to fully cool before stitching for best results.
  9. Follow instructions for applique as normal.
  10. Once applique is finished stitching, applique can be pressed to finalize and ensure that applique fabric and item are attached.

Instructions for Patches [creates iron-on patches] – Place your appliqué or patch over the film and trace around it. Cut out the Fuse-Adhere film and iron the non-wax paper side to the bottom of your patch or appliqué. Allow time to cool, and remove the release paper from the other side of the film. The appliqué or patch should be ready to be ironed on to the garment. Fuse-Adhere eliminates the need for water-activated adhesive stabilizers, stitching, or spray adhesives.
